Based on decision of Ministry of Science and Higher Education from 15 April 2015, scientific consortium „Healthy Animals-safe food” with participation of Institute of Genetic and Animal Breeding of the Polish Academy of Sciences has received prestigious status of Leading National Research Center (LNRC) in the field of agricultural, forest and veterinary sciences, for a period from 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2019. LNRC status is being granted to leading research institutes in Poland. Consortium consists of another members like: Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Consortium Leader), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn and National Veterinary Research Institute in Puławy. Main scientific aims of Consortium are based on priorities of National Research Program and concern (1) protection of biodiversity in balanced agricultural production and (2) securing of food safety. Consortium will receive subsidy from Ministry of Science and Higher Education, for a period of 5 years, aimed at further development of their research potential and staff, creation of attractive workplace conditions, development of research personnel, including scholarships, internships and grants for young researchers, employment of scientific workers from abroad and leading Integrated School for PhD students.
